Laura Rigby DC

Clinic Director

Laura studied at the  McTimoney College of Chiropractic, finishing her degree in December 2007.
In 2004, Laura moved from her home town of Wigan, Lancashire to Wokingham and has remained in Berkshire ever since. Laura now resides in Maidenhead. Feeling more at home in Berkshire, Laura decided to remain in the area after graduating and set up her business ‘Chiropractic 2U’ in 2009. Laura grew the mobile chiropractic service and in 2010 moved into a business premises in Winnersh and then to Wokingham in 2011. In Wokingham, Laura moved from the hectic town centre to a small unit on a farm which was supposed to be temporary whilst acquiring a larger unit, that fell through and patients then revealed that they were happy not to have to return to the town centre! We are still on the little farm unit today!

In September 2014 Laura took advanced chiropractic qualifications in Sacro occipital technique and on the same day, completed on the clinic in Maidenhead… everything always happens at once! Laura worked between Wokingham and Maidenhead and keeps trying to stop practising in order to work on the business. We have built Maidenhead up, and are delighted with what we can offer now, more hours with 2 further Chiropractors, a sports therapist and a fabulous massage therapist, a Practise Manger and superstar CA ready to welcome you with your favourite drink when you arrive. Our intention is to have a fabulous practise for our guests who love the relaxed vibe and the quietness of being able to read a magazine and enjoy a cuppa whilst you wait for your appointment.

Laura also sits on the SOTO Europe board delivering chiropractic education to Chiropractors all over Europe. Laura is a PRT trainer for the Royal College of Chiropractors and a table instructor for SOTO Europe. Laura also delivers in house training for the team at Berkshire Health Clinic.

Freya has received Chiropractic treatment from the age of three along with the rest of her family.

Although Chiropractic has always been a big part of Freya’s life it wasn’t until high school that she decided she wanted to become a Chiropractor after a trampolining accident where she received chiropractic treatment and noticed an improvement immediately.

Since graduating Freya has gone on to train in the Sacral Occipital technique after seeing the benefits of care she received pre and post-natal.

She is also passionate about posture and general well-being.

Emily Allen

Massage & Spinal Therapist

From the age of 6, Emily trained at the Oxford  School of Gymnastics as an elite acrobatic gymnast. Emily competed both nationally and internationally representing her club in Belgium and Italy and representing Great Britain in Bulgaria, achieving 2 gold and 1 silver medal. During this time she also gained experience coaching younger gymnasts at her local club.
During her time as a gymnast, Emily underwent a number of surgical procedures due to developing complex joint injuries in her hips and elbow. Emily’s rehabilitation process was often demanding and tough to endure meaning she now has a very thorough understanding of the importance of injury prevention and the differing challenges individuals face in the early and later stages in their recovery. Emily’s experience of injury has not only inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare but has enabled her to become an empathetic individual with the ability to comfort and inspire those who need it most.

After retiring as an elite gymnast, Emily continued to develop her artistic skills as a dancer, graduating with a First Class BA (Hons) in Dance from the University of Chester. In addition, Emily have taught alongside the professional dance company, Fallen Angels Dance Theatre, who specialise in supporting those recovering from mental health issues and substance use disorder. Emily’s experience with the company confirmed her desire to contribute positively to the physical and mental well-being of individuals in a rehabilitative context. This led her to complete a Master’s degree in Dance Science from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. The course allowed Emily to develop myself as a reflective practitioner and researcher, exploring the physiological, psychological and biomechanical structures of the human body.

Further to this, Emily has a certification in Spinal Manipulation and Mobilisation and I have achieved a level 3 extended diploma in Sports Massage. Emily aspires to use this knowledge to deliver individualised care plans and training programmes which aim to enhance aspects of physical performance and mental well-being.

It’s safe to say that Emily has a vast amount of life experience and knowledge and you will be in good hands!
